AMZ123 has learned that recent data from TikTok Shop shows that during the 2026 Mexico Hot Sale shopping festival, TikTok Shop's overall performance increased by more than eight times compared to the same period last year, with live commerce becoming the core driving force for growth.
The data shows that the number of live streaming sessions on the TikTok Shop platform with more than 500 orders per session has increased by more than five times; the number of merchants conducting live sales has increased by more than eight times; and the number of content creators participating in live streaming sales has increased by more than five times. Related data indicates that live streaming has gradually developed from a marketing method into an important part of TikTok Shop's business ecosystem.
In fact, this growth is not only evident during promotional events. According to Hot Sale-related data released by TikTok Shop, from February 2025 to January 2026, the average daily gross merchandise volume (GMV) of TikTok Shop in the Mexican market increased by up to 59 times. This Hot Sale event further amplified this long-term growth trend.
During the rapid development of the TikTok platform, a number of brands that were among the first to deploy live commerce have achieved significant growth.
The Mexican skincare brand kieró (@kiero_skincare) achieved a GMV increase of 260.2% and an order volume increase of 201.4% through daily live streaming and continuous cooperation with creators.
Home furnishing brand LOOMBER HOME (@loomber1) saw a GMV increase of 155.7%.
Beauty retailer Amora The Beauty Market (@amora_beauty_market) achieved a GMV increase of 97.2% through its longest Mega Live streaming session, lasting up to 15 hours.
Electronics brand Xiaomi Mexico Store (@xiaomimexico) saw a GMV increase of 77.9% and an order volume increase of 66.9%.
Industry analysis believes that an important reason for the rapid growth of live commerce is that it enhances the interactive experience between consumers and products. During live streaming, consumers can not only see product displays and actual usage effects but also ask questions in real-time and receive responses, thereby reducing uncertainty in the purchase decision-making process.
Looking at regional markets, Mexico has a special status in TikTok Shop's global layout. Currently, Mexico and Brazil are the two countries where TikTok Shop operates in Latin America, so the Mexican market is also seen as an important testing ground for the live commerce model in the Latin American region.
Industry research institution EAE Business School predicts that by 2026, live shopping will account for 10% to 20% of global e-commerce sales. If this prediction comes true, then TikTok Shop's performance during the 2026 Hot Sale period will be regarded as one of the important milestones in the development of live commerce.
At the same time, industry data shows that currently, only 22% of Mexican companies are deploying social commerce (Social Commerce). This means that there is still considerable room for growth in the live commerce market, and the utilization rate of this channel by brands and merchants still has potential for improvement.
