AMZ123 has learned that recently, Etsy announced that its latest "Children's and Infant Products Policy" will officially take effect on June 2, 2026. This policy aims to further strengthen the platform's safety management of children-related products and clarify the prohibited sales scope of some children's products.
According to the announcement, this policy update mainly includes changes in several aspects. First, there are clearer restrictions on small parts products that may pose a risk of accidental ingestion or suffocation. Second, the platform has updated the examples of prohibited sales of infant sleep furniture and related accessories, and added more explicitly prohibited product categories, such as infant neck floating devices, etc.
In addition, the new regulations also provide more detailed safety guidelines for children's clothing and related products to help sellers meet platform and regulatory requirements during the design and sales process.
At the same time, Etsy has also updated the Seller Handbook, emphasizing that sellers need to focus on product design, safety standards, and compliance requirements when listing children's products to ensure that the products comply with platform policies and relevant regulations.
Surrounding these policy changes, Etsy seller and industry expert Cindy Baldassi posted an analysis on LinkedIn saying that some adjustments in the new regulations may have a significant impact on sellers, including the expanded ban on magnetic toys and the complete prohibition of toy balls with a diameter of less than 1.75 inches. This change means that some existing product listings on the platform may no longer comply with the regulations.
In addition, if water bead products are sold as handmade materials or non-toy categories, they will also be prohibited.
Baldassi also pointed out that in the detailed analysis she posted on Patreon, Etsy has renamed the original "Children's Clothing and Products" policy and added multiple restrictions that had been cleared from the platform but not explicitly stated in the content.
She also reminded sellers that Etsy mainly relies on automated systems (bots) to perform policy audits, which may lead to misjudgments and cause some compliant products to be wrongly removed. Therefore, sellers need to manage their product listings more cautiously and be prepared in advance for possible removals.
She also specifically emphasized that the new regulations are not only aimed at products "specifically designed for children", but even if some products are not explicitly targeted at children, as long as they meet the restrictions, they may also be included in the prohibited sales scope and thus subject to policy constraints.
As the new regulations are about to take effect, the compliance requirements for children's products on the Etsy platform have been further increased, and relevant sellers need to re-examine their existing product structure to avoid operational risks brought about by policy adjustments.

Seller's Home Review
Etsy's new regulations set higher prohibitions and safety thresholds for children's products, involving toy balls, magnetic toys, and water bead materials, which are directly related to product selection compliance. It is recommended that sellers start investigating relevant products on sale and planned for listing from now on to ensure compliance with the standards effective from June 2026 and avoid the risk of subsequent removal.
