AMZ123 learned that data from Brazilian e-commerce platform Nuvemshop shows that in the first half of 2026, Brazilian sellers’ e-commerce sales increased by 44% year-over-year, with order volume reaching 14.5 million, a 34% rise. Brazil’s Father’s Day (Dia dos Pais) became the first major consumption driver in the retail market for the second half of 2026, fueling continued growth of local e-commerce sales.
Data shows that from January to June 2026, overall transactions maintained an upward trend, and as Father’s Day approached, sales growth further accelerated. In May 2026, e-commerce sales rose 47% year-on-year; in June, sales increased 46%. The first-half sales performance was driven not only by higher order volumes but also by an increase in average customer spending per order.
By category, products related to gift consumption saw the most significant growth in the past three months. Jewelry and watches sales surged 48% year-on-year, becoming the fastest-growing category; fashion accessories sales rose 39%; apparel and footwear grew 37%, also representing the largest category by sales volume.
Additionally, sports goods sales increased 33% year-on-year, gifts category up 31%, health and beauty products up 28%, and electronics and computer-related goods up 25%.
Another survey from content recommendation platform Taboola shows that Brazilian consumers’ interest in Father’s Day-related products has also increased significantly. Searches for Father’s Day keywords soared by 6,850% in the weeks leading up to the event, with related page views reaching 73,000.
Taboola’s analysis found that consumer attention is expanding from traditional gifts to personal care, tech products, premium goods, and experiential consumption, while products related to family gatherings remain highly sought after.
As for high-value gifts, page views for “luxury watches” increased by 2,216% to 405,000; “imported goods” rose 1,437%, with cumulative views of 31,000; “high-end restaurants” grew 54%, reaching 11,000 page views. Taboola noted that this trend indicates consumers are looking for gifts that combine material value, experiential appeal, and uniqueness.
Men’s grooming-related consumption also grew. Searches for “barbershop” increased by 1,827%, with page views reaching 238,000; “beauty products” rose 380%, with 20,000 views; “perfume” page views reached 604,000, up 68% year-on-year.
According to Taboola, Brazilian consumers’ perception of fatherhood is changing, and Father’s Day gifts are no longer limited to functional items but are gradually shifting toward products that reflect personal style, health management, and quality of life.
Tech products also became a hot spot for Father’s Day consumption. Searches for “headphones” increased by 538%, with page views reaching 69,000; “smartwatch” grew 176%, reaching 8,200 views; “Alexa” increased 123%, reaching 43,000 views.
In addition, items related to hobbies and interests attracted attention. Page views for “comic books” grew 206% to 25,000; “racket” rose 118% to 11,000 views.
However, traditional Father’s Day consumption demand remains strong. Barbecue-related products continue to be one of the most watched categories. Page views for “grill” reached 1.2 million, a 249% year-on-year increase, the highest among all analyzed topics. “Meat” content grew 42% to 459,000 views; “beer” rose 62% to 87,000; “whiskey” increased 24% to 27,000; “thermos” grew 12% to 18,000 views.
