The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran also said that its naval fighter jets hit an American oil tanker in the northern part of the Persian Gulf early that morning, "and the oil tanker is currently burning". Additionally, according to reports from multiple Iranian media outlets on the 5th citing an Iranian military officer, Iran has not closed the Strait of Hormuz.
