Stage Two (December 2024 - June 2025):

Chen used his position to fabricate the need for integrity labels for selling down jackets in Russia, defrauding the company of a total of 224,700 yuan.

Stage Three (May 2025):

Chen took advantage of his job responsible for down jacket sales and sold 1,787 down jackets (worth 183,897 yuan) stored in the Russian warehouse.

Stage Four (March - June 2025):

He forged collection agreements and supplier payment vouchers to withdraw funds from the company's stores on the Shein and WB platforms.

In total, Chen embezzled 706,198.62 yuan from the company.

With the rapid development of the cross-border e-commerce industry, the operation position holds key permissions such as store fund circulation, advertising placement, and order processing. Once there is a lack of effective supervision, it is very easy to become a hotbed for internal corruption.

In November 2025, the People's Court of Pingyang County made a first-instance judgment in this case: The defendant Chen was convicted of embezzlement and sentenced to two years and four months in prison (the sentence is from July 2, 2025 to September 1, 2027), and was ordered to compensate the victimized company 706,198.62 yuan.

The above facts were not disputed by the defendant Chen during the trial and he pleaded guilty and accepted punishment voluntarily.

The court held that Chen used his position to illegally take possession of the property of the unit, with a large amount, and his behavior constituted the crime of embezzlement. Considering his confession after being brought to justice, he could be given a lighter punishment, but he still had to bear criminal responsibility and compensation responsibility. Because the boss criticized him publicly in the WeChat group, he was dissatisfied after leaving the job and logged into the company's Amazon backend multiple times with his computer, maliciously setting low-price coupons, causing hundreds of thousands of losses to the company. Wei was finally arrested in Dongguan, sentenced to three years in prison, and fined 20,000 yuan.

These cases have rung the alarm bell for cross-border e-commerce enterprises:

1. Separation of Permissions: Permissions such as fund approval, order operation, and supplier management should be set separately to avoid "one person having too much power".

2. Approval and Review: Establish strict approval and review mechanisms for business to prevent false operations.
