eBay Clothing and Footwear Listing Size Standardization Reform Initiated
Cross-border information2026-5-25

eBay has announced that since June, size standardization reforms will be implemented for clothing and footwear listings. The platform will automatically standardize standard sizes such as "S" and "M", and give warnings for vague labels like "see description". This reform aims to reduce returns and disputes caused by unclear size information and improve the shopping experience of buyers.

Size issues are the primary reason for returns in apparel and footwear e-commerce. By using technical means to enforce standardized size labeling, eBay will effectively reduce transaction frictions arising from differences in size understanding.

For sellers, although it takes time to adjust the size information of existing listings, in the long run, a standardized size system helps to reduce the return rate and improve store ratings. It is recommended that sellers organize product size data in advance to ensure consistency with the platform's standard system.
