AMZ123 has learned that, according to a layoff notice TikTok submitted to Washington state, the company plans to cut 75 employees in the Seattle area, most of them in e-commerce-related roles. The affected employees' last day is set for October 19.

The layoffs are mainly concentrated in TikTok Shop and the global e-commerce team in Bellevue, Washington. The disclosed positions show that the restructuring covers multiple areas of TikTok's e-commerce business, from operations and risk control to technology, including anti-fraud and governance program managers, seller and creator operations staff, campaign managers, data scientists, and front-end and back-end engineers.

The notice was submitted by TT Commerce & Global Services LLC, used TikTok letterhead, and listed two ByteDance employees as contacts. The filing shows that the affected office is located at Lincoln Square North in Bellevue, at 700 Bellevue Way NE, and that employee separation dates are set for October 19.

In recent years, TikTok has treated the Seattle area as an important base for its e-commerce business and has continued to expand its Bellevue office, building teams and business systems for TikTok Shop's growth. With 75 e-commerce-related positions now cut, observers are watching whether TikTok is adjusting its U.S. e-commerce staffing and operational layout.

This is not the only recent workforce adjustment TikTok has made in the United States. On August 6, TikTok announced it would close its Nashville, Tennessee office and lay off all 250 local employees, most of whom were on the content moderation team. Combined with these 75 positions in the Seattle area, the scale of TikTok's recent U.S. layoffs has grown further.

In fact, the Seattle tech industry has faced continued layoff pressure this year. In August alone, Zillow cut more than 500 employees, including 91 in Washington state; Microsoft announced 4,800 job cuts in July, including 605 positions in Washington; Google cut 52 local positions in August, and Salesforce laid off 59 people in its Seattle and Bellevue offices.

This is also not the first time TikTok has reduced its Seattle-area workforce. In 2025, TikTok cut 65 positions in the Seattle area, including 38 from TikTok and 27 from ByteDance.
