Amazon Global Intelligent Hub Warehouse (GWD) is a one-stop warehousing and distribution service established by Amazon at the source of goods (such as Shenzhen, China), aiming to achieve "one inventory pool serving the world". To enable you to more clearly grasp the practical details of Amazon Global Intelligent Hub Warehouse (GWD), the complete operation process of GWD is decomposed into detailed 10 steps below:
1. Qualification and Account Preparation Stage
1. Register Amazon Global Logistics (AGL). Cross-border transportation for GWD is provided by the AGL team, and sellers must first join the AGL program.
2. Set up the Importer of Record (IOR). Complete importer settings and customs compliance procedures in the AGL backend, which is a necessary prerequisite for subsequent cross-border replenishment of goods.
II. Shipment Creation Stage
Step 1: Create a Shipment
1. Log in to the seller platform, click Menu > Inventory > Amazon Warehousing and Distribution Services plan in turn, and select "Send to AWD".
2. Enter your Chinese shipping address and select the GWD warehouse located in "Guangdong Shenzhen" in the "Change Delivery Address" option.
3. Prerequisite: Currently, transportation from GWD warehouse to US FBA is provided by Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) team. If AGL has not been activated yet, Shenzhen warehouse cannot be selected. Click "Register Amazon Global Logistics" to complete importer setup first.
Step 2: Improve Shipment Information and Print Box Labels
1. Select the corresponding SKU and create a packing template (must meet ASIN and packing requirements).
2. Improve information such as shipment quantity, inbound transportation method, and customs clearance required for delivery.
3. Print the outer box label and confirm the shipment information.
Step 3: Shipments Inbound
1. Sellers transport the shipments to the GWD warehouse by themselves (currently supports full truck or shared truck transportation, loose boxes or pallets can be stored, but does not support small package transportation).
2. When the goods are stored, they will undergo intelligent scanning, volume and weight measurement and be neatly shelved.
3. Sellers can query the tracking status of inbound shipments in real time on the seller platform.
Step 4: Set Replenishment
1. After the goods are stored, sellers can choose manual or automatic replenishment for each SKU to supplement inventory to US FBA.
2. The system will trigger replenishment instructions based on AI big data intelligence prediction. After confirmation by the seller, the warehouse will start picking, loading and shipping. (Note: Manual replenishment is currently supported, and automatic replenishment will be gradually opened in April 2026).
III. Key Rules and Restrictions
· Applicable Sites: Currently, only supports replenishing to US FBA, and does not support shipping to US AWD warehouse or other sites such as Europe and Japan.
· Applicable Products: Preferentially support standard parts, evergreen products and slow-moving goods. Each side length shall not exceed 25 inches and weight shall not exceed 49 pounds. It does not support expired products, battery-powered products, high-value goods (such as jewelry and watches), perishable and refrigerated dangerous goods, etc.
· Packing Requirements: There is no minimum shipment quantity, but each box must be a single SKU and not exceed 150 pieces; unpackaged goods or boxes with mixed SKUs are not accepted.
· Export Declaration: GWD Shenzhen warehouse is an export supervision warehouse. All inventories must be stored under customs supervision, and export customs clearance documents must be completed before storage.
IV. Charging Standard Reference
The cost of GWD mainly includes warehousing fee, inbound processing fee, outbound processing fee and export declaration fee. The specific rates are as follows:
· Warehousing Fee: $8.79 / cubic meter / month
· Inbound Processing Fee: $0.20 / box
· Outbound Processing Fee: $0.30 / box
· Inbound Export Declaration Fee: $50.00 / ticket
· Outbound Export Declaration Fee: $0.10 / box
Note: Cross-border transportation fees are charged separately by AGL (Amazon Global Logistics), and no separate transportation fees need to be paid to GWD.
Sellers only need to create shipments in the backend → ship to Shenzhen GWD → set replenishment rules, and the rest of the customs declaration, transportation, and FBA storage are all handled by Amazon in one stop. This is currently the lowest cost and simplest cross-border logistics solution for Chinese sellers to enter the US site.
