This new rule applies to sellers who purchase shipping labels through the eBay shipping platform (eBay Labels), and eBay's shipping calculator has been updated accordingly.

This price adjustment adopts a differentiated change strategy based on region and weight. For 2-pound packages, the highest increase in some intervals is $0.87, and the decrease in some intervals is $0.12; for 3- to 5-pound packages, the maximum decrease across all intervals can be $1.39. Overall, this adjustment is beneficial for medium-weight goods to reduce shipping costs, especially the price reduction in the 3- to 5-pound interval is more significant.

The USPS stated that this temporary price adjustment is a flexible response to changes in current logistics market demand and operating costs. For eBay sellers, it is recommended to recalculate logistics expenses using the platform's shipping calculator based on the weight and delivery area of the goods, and adjust product pricing or shipping strategies accordingly. In particular, sellers of medium-weight products (3-5 pounds) can seize this price reduction window to optimize profit margins.

It should be noted that this adjustment is a temporary measure, and rates may return to normal or be further adjusted after June 7. At the same time, eBay's commission calculation is based on the total transaction amount of the goods (including shipping), so changes in shipping costs will directly affect commission expenses. Sellers who offer "free shipping" services need to absorb cost changes themselves, or transfer pressure by adjusting product pricing. It is recommended that sellers closely monitor subsequent USPS rate announcements and consider alternative logistics solutions such as FedEx and UPS to establish a more cost-elastic logistics system.
