On September 28, Amazon announced the launch of a new international delivery service in Mexico. Eligible items shipped from U.S. fulfillment centers will be delivered to central Mexico within 24 hours. The service currently covers three cities: Mexico City, Puebla, and Toluca. Millions of consumers can buy U.S. products and receive packages as soon as the next day. The service is now officially live, covering electronics, home goods, beauty, fashion, toys, and more, with hundreds of thousands of eligible items.
For Amazon Prime members, eligible next-day delivery orders also enjoy free international shipping, further increasing Prime membership benefits. Consumers without Prime membership can also use the 24-hour delivery service, but need to pay standard shipping fees.
Amazon said the service relies on a dedicated logistics corridor that directly connects Amazon fulfillment centers in the United States with the delivery network in central Mexico. Related logistics operations run every day to ensure stable delivery times. After packages arrive in Mexico, Amazon's last-mile delivery network delivers them directly to consumers' doorsteps.
From the service details, Amazon is not simply shortening one delivery segment, but connecting U.S. warehousing, cross-border transportation, and Mexico's last-mile delivery network. For cross-border e-commerce, shipping from the U.S. usually involves international transportation, customs clearance, and local delivery. Amazon is now compressing these steps into a next-day delivery promise, which means its cross-border logistics capability is moving closer to local e-commerce delivery speed.
In addition to free international delivery, Mexican Prime members can also enjoy free local delivery on millions of items, as well as Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Gaming, exclusive deals, and benefits offered in cooperation with Rappi, including unlimited free restaurant delivery and other services.
