Amazon has announced that the world's first Amazon Global Intelligent Hub Warehouse (GWD) has been officially opened to sellers in Shenzhen. At the communication meeting, Chen Ming, vice president of Amazon China and head of cross-border supply chain management for Amazon Global Selling, said, "At present, GWD mainly supports sellers to send warehouses to Amazon FBA in the United States. Next, we also plan to support more Amazon overseas sites, such as Europe, Japan, etc. At that time, a truly unified global inventory pool will be realized, and one warehouse will supply the whole world."

Chen Ming said, "In terms of the source of goods, we also plan to land multiple GWD warehouses in China, close to the source of goods of sellers, such as the Yangtze River Delta region. In the future, Amazon will continue to strengthen its investment in China's cross-border logistics supply chain, creating a multifunctional logistics network integrating warehousing, performance and distribution, so that sellers can achieve one-time warehousing in China, whether they are direct shipping to overseas consumers or replenishing FBA warehouses. Amazon can uniformly allocate inventory to meet the needs of customers in various countries and channels."

What basic capabilities does GWD have? She said, "GWD is not just a warehouse built at the source of goods. It is actually an intelligent global supply chain hub. For example, the cost topic that everyone is most concerned about, compared to storing inventory in a warehouse in the United States, GWD has a natural cost advantage of warehousing at the source of goods, and the warehousing cost can be reduced by up to 45%. At the same time, sellers do not have to lock in inventory in the destination country, but can more flexibly allocate inventory from the source of goods according to actual sales, reducing overall inventory risk."

Secondly, the supply chain will also become simpler. "With GWD's pre-clearance, AGL's exclusive transportation capacity and intelligent replenishment function, we can help sellers improve the efficiency of replenishment and supply chain management.
