AMZ123 has learned that on May 8th, a widespread outage occurred in the Amazon seller backend, preventing sellers from viewing orders, shipping products, or placing ads, while also affecting buyer payments. After confirmation, the malfunction originated from a power outage caused by equipment overheating in the AWS US-East (US-EAST-1) data center on the evening of May 7th, triggering a chain reaction that disrupted over 150 cloud services. The platform services have now largely been restored. With the upcoming Prime Day peak season, this incident has raised sellers' concerns about platform stability.
