A new Amazon policy is about to take effect.
Recently, Amazon announced that it will change the way it charges sellers for removing and disposing of products from its fulfillment centers. The biggest change is that Amazon will "charge a removal and disposal fee per item, charging each time an item is removed or disposed of."

New Amazon FBA Regulations
Amazon stated in its announcement: Starting from February 15, 2026, the removal and disposal fees for Amazon Logistics FBA will be charged per item when removed or disposed of.
Amazon announced that the change will take effect on February 15, 2026, and further explained: "Previously, these fees were charged all at once after the entire removal or disposal order was completed. This update is intended to give sellers a clearer understanding of their removal and disposal activities."
Amazon further pointed out that this adjustment is only for the billing schedule, and the收费标准保持不变。seller也不需要采取任何行动,此变更将自动应用于2月15日或之后创建的新订单。removal and disposal fee standards remain unchanged. Sellers do not need to take any action, as this change will be automatically applied to new orders created on or after February 15th.
If sellers want to view their shipping level fees and when to remove units, please go to "Payments" and click "Transaction View".
As soon as this announcement came out, the seller community was in an uproar.
One seller called the change terrible and said, "Now, if a seller creates a removal order with 100 items, it's no longer just one tracking notification, but 100 separate small notifications. I can't understand what the benefit of this is."
Another seller said, "Will the removal and disposal fees for Amazon Logistics FBA be charged per item when removed or disposed of? If these orders are canceled by the system or the seller during delivery, they will not be removed or discarded, will these orders also be charged?"
Most of these sellers' confusion lies in why Amazon thinks FBA sellers would prefer to see funds deducted in batches from their accounts rather than all at once.
However, many sellers believe that the policy update is not necessarily a bad thing, as it gives FBA sellers more opportunities to dispute the separate fees for each item transaction.

Countdown to Policy Implementation
With less than half a month to go, starting from February 15, 2026, Amazon will charge a removal fee for each item removed, and sellers need to be aware of the policy.
The removal fee for standard size items weighing 0 to 0.5 pounds per item is $1.04 ($0.84, effective January 15, 2026); for items weighing 0.5 to 1.0 pounds excluding 0.5, the removal fee per item is $1.53; for items weighing 1.0 to 2.0 pounds excluding 1.0, the removal fee per item is $2.27; for items over 2 pounds, the removal fee per item is $2.89 plus $1.06 per pound (for the part exceeding 2 pounds).
For large and extra-large items and items requiring special handling, the removal fee for items weighing 0 to 1.0 pounds per item is $3.12; for items weighing 1.0 to 2.0 pounds excluding 1.0, the removal fee per item is $4.30; for items weighing 2.0 to 4.0 pounds excluding 2.0, the removal fee per item is $6.36; for items weighing 4.0 to 10.0 pounds excluding 4.0, the removal fee per item is $10.04; for items over 10 pounds, the removal fee is $14.32 plus $1.06 per pound (for the part exceeding 10 pounds).
For example: For standard size items, if the shipping weight is 0.5 to 1.0 pounds (excluding 0.5 pounds)
If the seller requests the disposal of two standard size items, each item weighs 0.56 pounds. The shipping weight of the item is rounded up to 0.6 pounds. Since the shipping weight of the item is between 0.5 and 1 pound, the disposal fee for each item is $1.53. After the disposal order is completed, the seller needs to pay $1.53 for each item, totaling $3.06.
If it is a large item and the shipping weight exceeds 10.0 pounds, the seller requests the disposal of three large items, each weighing 10.1 pounds. The shipping weight of the item is rounded up to 11 pounds. The resulting disposal fee for each item is $15.38 (the first 10 pounds is $14.32, and the additional 1 pound is $1.06). After the disposal order is completed, the seller needs to pay $15.38 for each item, totaling $46.14.
Sellers should note that after creating a request, disposal orders are usually processed within 14 working days. However, during the holiday season and peak removal periods, it may take 30 working days or longer to process removal orders.
The new policy is about to be implemented, which will change the financial management and reconciliation details for sellers, and sellers need to establish a detailed expense ledger.
