Attention U.S. sellers! Starting November 2, 2026, Amazon will update its Commercial Liability Insurance requirements for the U.S. site. If sellers fail to complete compliant insurance coverage on time, related listings will be removed directly!

This update mainly adds two additional requirements beyond the existing policy that "all sellers whose total gross sales on Amazon.com exceed $10,000 in any month must purchase and maintain commercial liability insurance within 30 days, with minimum coverage limits of $1 million per occurrence and $1 million in aggregate":

① Sellers of products subject to higher safety information requirements must purchase insurance regardless of whether their monthly gross sales reach the $10,000 threshold.

"Products subject to higher safety information requirements" mainly include 11 categories:

- Children's products (children's toys, infant sleep products, playpens, etc.)

- Consumable and ingestible products (dietary supplements, ophthalmic medicines, etc.)

- Fire-related products (fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, etc.)

- General household equipment (immersion water heaters, small kitchen appliances, etc.)

- Home medical equipment (home respiratory care supplies, walkers and wheeled walkers, etc.)

- Lithium battery products (lithium batteries, portable power supplies, lithium battery-powered household appliances, etc.)

- Outdoor power and heating equipment (electric cutting tools, pressure washers, gas outdoor heating products, etc.)

- Personal protective equipment (carabiners, safety helmets, climbing ropes, etc.)

- Sleep products (mattresses, adult portable bed rails, etc.)

- Transportation-related products (car and motorcycle tires, etc.)

- Water and water-related safety products (wearable or inflatable flotation products, etc.)

Please note that the above are only representative products for each category, and related products may change as Amazon adds new categories. Sellers are advised to refer to Amazon's official category list.

② Sellers whose registered location is in mainland China must purchase insurance through the Amazon Insurance Accelerator (AIA) program.

Starting November 2, policies not obtained through AIA will be rejected.

Valid third-party policies submitted to Amazon before November 2 may continue to be used until expiration, but upon renewal, new policies must be obtained through AIA.

In short, after the new policy takes effect on November 2, products in the 11 "high-risk" categories will require insurance even with zero sales, and Chinese sellers can only obtain insurance through the official channel (AIA). Sellers should complete insurance purchase/replacement/supplemental coverage according to their own circumstances before November 2, 2026, and leave buffer time for review to avoid listing removals and sales impact.
