On August 27, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of 1.9 million Cuisinart grill brushes. Combined with 1.71 million recalled in July, more than 3.6 million Cuisinart grill brushes have been recalled.

The affected products are mainly wire grill brushes. The recall is because bristles can detach and stick to the grill or food, posing ingestion hazards and risk of serious internal injury.

All Cuisinart wire grill brushes are covered by the recall. They were sold from June 2009 to March 2026 at online stores such as Walmart, Amazon, and the brand's official website for $8 to $20.

In fact, wire grill brushes have long been frequent recall items. In February, Weber recalled more than 3.2 million units; in March, Nexgrill recalled 10.2 million units, both due to risks of bristle detachment and accidental ingestion.

Recalls not only damage brand reputation and sales but also lead to refunds, compensation, delisting, inventory backlogs and other severe consequences. Grill brush sellers should take this as a warning and ensure products meet safety requirements.

Besides safety issues, grill brush infringement problems cannot be overlooked. Searches show that many products have registered U.S. design patents. Without careful screening, sellers may face infringement and delisting risks.
