China's cosmetics exports to Russia grow 74% in first five months
AMZ123 Cross-border Newsletter2026-7-17

AMZ123 has learned that from January to May 2026, China's exports of finished cosmetics and perfumes to Russia totaled $152.3 million, a year-on-year increase of 74%, nearly three times the overall growth rate of China's total goods exports to Russia. Against the backdrop of the large-scale withdrawal of Western brands from the Russian market, Chinese cosmetics companies are rapidly filling the market gap. At the same time, the reliance of Russian local manufacturers on contract manufacturing from Chinese factories is also increasing.

Among them, facial skincare products became the main growth driver, with imports surging 95% year-on-year to $54.5 million, accounting for more than one-third of China's total cosmetics exports to Russia. After the implementation of the mandatory labeling system, the illegal circulation of perfumes in the Russian market dropped by 78%. In addition, imports of decorative cosmetics increased by 54% to $34.4 million, while oral care, shaving and deodorant categories collectively increased by 38% to $37.6 million. Only the perfume category saw a slower growth, up 10% year-on-year. China's supply chain is continuously adapting to the structural changes in Russia's beauty consumer market.

AMZ123 Commentary

The Russian cosmetics market remains a high-growth window for Chinese sellers, with the facial skincare category surging 95%. Product selection can focus on cold resistance, moisturizing and other adaptive needs. It is recommended to accelerate the deployment of logistics and compliance certification in Russia, securing channel advantages before competition intensifies.
