AMZ123 has learned that Amazon has recently imposed restrictions on core qualification fields such as corporate names and unified social credit codes in the seller backend for major global sites, including North America, Europe, and Japan, and has closed the self-service portal for store entity changes. At the same time, the entity switch between domestic and foreign companies can no longer be completed through the original path.
It is understood that this adjustment is a compliance tightening measure at the platform level, mainly to cooperate with domestic tax-related information reporting requirements and further strengthen the governance of shell companies and affiliated operations and other violations.
At present, Amazon has not completely prohibited reasonable entity changes. Sellers can still apply for editing permissions through opening a Case to the platform customer service, or adjust only the legal representative information. However, improper operation may trigger the secondary verification process related to the Consumer Notification Law.
Therefore, it is recommended that sellers postpone submitting entity change applications unless necessary. If there is indeed a need for entity adjustment, relevant certification materials such as old and new business licenses should be prepared in advance and reported according to the platform process.
In addition, sellers should not evade tax supervision or attempt to "whiten" illegal accounts by changing entities, otherwise they may face risks such as account suspension and tax tracing.
Comments from Sellers' Home
Amazon's closure of the entity change portal means that the threshold for store compliance has significantly increased. Sellers need to immediately verify the consistency of company qualifications and backend information to avoid triggering audits or account suspensions due to inconsistent information. Tax compliance will become the key to the long-term survival of the store.
