AMZ123 has learned that recently, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued several announcements of rulings on cases involving Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, covering core technical fields such as wireless communication, semiconductor devices, and electronic equipment. The relevant investigations were terminated on the following dates: On April 24, the investigation into specific wireless front-end modules and their downstream devices was terminated due to a settlement agreement (337-TA-1413); on April 27, the investigation into specific semiconductor devices and their downstream computing products and components was terminated due to a settlement between the parties (337-TA-1465); on April 28, the investigation into specific wireless communication devices and their components was terminated due to the plaintiff's voluntary withdrawal (337-TA-1480); on April 29, the investigation into specific electronic glasses and their components and related charging devices was terminated due to a settlement between the parties (337-TA-1455). The main Chinese companies involved include DJI Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., LeXiang Technology Co., Ltd., JiaHe Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen OnePlus Technology Co., Ltd. (OnePlus), Lenovo Information Products (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., and KangXi Communication Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. However, the termination of investigations in these cases does not mean the end of intellectual property disputes, especially in sensitive fields such as semiconductors, wireless communication, AI chips, and smart terminals, where U.S. companies continue to strengthen their enforcement of core patents.

Seller's Home Review

The termination of multiple 337 investigations involving China by the U.S. ITC, with cases involving DJI, Lenovo, etc., being closed, signals a easing of trade frictions. Cross-border sellers should pay attention to the compliance risks of core technologies, conduct advance investigations into product supply chains and patent layouts, to avoid operational disruptions and legal costs brought about by subsequent investigations.
