Amazon announced last week that it will again raise logistics fees during the holiday peak for services including Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime.
The holiday fulfillment fees will apply from October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027. FBA fees are calculated and charged when items ship from the fulfillment center, meaning orders shipped on or after October 15 will incur the peak season surcharge.
FBA Fees Rise During Peak Season
| Product | Size Tier | Off-Peak Fulfillment Fee | Peak Fulfillment Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone Case | Small standard | $2.49 | $2.68 |
| T-shirt | Large standard | $6.14 | $6.53 |
| Crib | Small oversize | $10.21 | $11.25 |
| TV | Extra Large (50-70 lb) | $48.57 | $51.38 |

Amazon said the fee increase matches last year’s holiday season, averaging $0.32 per unit. However, a 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge introduced in April will stack on top of the holiday fees. When sellers asked when the surcharge would end, a company representative said it will remain in effect until further notice.
Amazon’s response on Seller Central stated: “Similar to other major carriers, we apply temporary surcharges on fulfillment fees when costs remain elevated, to recover a portion of the impact of increased operational costs.”
Amazon advises sellers to send inventory to its facilities before October so Black Friday and Cyber Monday orders can qualify for Prime delivery speeds. The exact cutoff depends on the seller’s inbound shipping plan and whether they use Amazon Warehousing and Distribution or FBA.
Amazon also warned that sellers may face tighter inventory storage limits during the holiday peak, as fulfillment centers shift focus to processing customer orders in November and December.
Amazon said: “The earlier your products enter the fulfillment network, the easier it will be to reach customers during peak demand.”
Additionally, Amazon last week announced a new fulfillment center in Shanghai, China, where sellers can bulk-store U.S.-bound inventory, complementing the recently opened Shenzhen facility. The Shanghai global warehousing and distribution center will open on Thursday.
Seller Home Commentary
Amazon has announced its 2026 holiday fulfillment fees early, with an average increase of $0.32 per unit. Sellers are advised to plan shipping schedules in advance, optimize inventory turnover, and avoid profit erosion from peak-season cost surges.
