According to a document from the United States Court of International Trade, the first batch of refunds for tariffs imposed on imported goods by the Trump administration based on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act will be issued around May 11th.
The United States Supreme Court announced a ruling on February 20th, determining that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not authorize the president to impose large-scale tariffs. A judge from the United States Court of International Trade ruled on March 4th that the Customs and Border Protection Agency must not impose tariffs based on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act in tariff settlements. This means that the tariffs previously imposed under this law need to be refunded.
