The General Administration of Customs has issued a notice that, starting from April 1, 2026, the cross - border e - commerce retail export (customs supervision code 9610) commodity cross - customs area return mode will be promoted nationwide in all customs.
When the commodities exported by cross - border e - commerce enterprises for retail sale are returned overseas, it is no longer required that they must be returned to the original export customs. Instead, they can flexibly choose any customs port across the country to go through the return - entry procedures.
This mode was piloted in 20 directly - affiliated customs such as Beijing, Shenzhen, and Chengdu on December 15, 2024. After more than a year of piloting, it has now met the conditions for national promotion. (Xinhua News Agency, International Business Daily, China Economic Net)
