Insta360's H1 revenue rises 50% to RMB 5.5 billion, while net profit narrows sharply to near loss.

AMZ123 has learned that Insta360’s H1 2026 performance showed “revenue growth without profit growth.” During the reporting period, the company achieved operating revenue of RMB 5.517 billion, up 50.29% year over year; however, net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was only RMB 30.4073 million, down 94.15% year over year, and after deducting non-recurring gains and losses, it posted a net loss of RMB 15.3392 million, turning from profit to loss compared with the prior-year period.

The earnings pressure mainly came from three overlapping factors. First, the company continued to increase strategic R&D investment and expand its global market presence, causing period expenses to rise sharply. Second, rising prices of key materials such as memory components squeezed cost margins. Third, intensifying industry competition significantly pressured product pricing and gross margin. As a result, overall gross margin fell sharply from 51.22% a year earlier to 41.42%, markedly narrowing profitability.

For sellers in the action camera and panoramic camera segments, Insta360’s profit fluctuation as a leading brand reflects the dual pressure on consumer electronics hardware going overseas: “trading price for volume” and continued heavier R&D spending. Similar 3C categories should watch inventory write-down risks amid rising component prices and re-examine the long-term impact of price competition and marketing spending on their income statements.

SellerZhiJia Comment

The warning of rising revenue without rising profit is clear: high revenue growth cannot hide near-loss net profit, and gross margin fell sharply by 9.8 percentage points. Sellers must guard against price wars and cost control failures, and prioritize optimizing product structure and pricing power.
