AMZ123 has learned that eBay has issued a notice on carrier rate adjustments for the 2026 peak season. FedEx and UPS will temporarily increase shipping fees during the peak period. FedEx's applicable period is from September 28, 2026, to January 17, 2027, while the applicable period for UPS is from September 27, 2026, to January 16, 2027.
For sellers shipping via eBay labels, the peak-season demand surcharge waiver for FedEx Ground, Home Delivery, Ground Economy, and Overnight services will be extended until January 17, 2027, but additional handling and oversize surcharges will still be charged separately. For UPS, Ground, Ground Saver, and Air packages shipped via eBay labels will be subject to peak-season demand surcharges.
eBay reminds sellers that cost adjustments issued after a shipping label is created are usually high, and recommends entering accurate package weight and dimensions when creating labels.
Seller Home Review
eBay's peak-season carrier rate increases will directly squeeze seller profits. The extension of FedEx surcharge waivers until January 2027 is one of the few favorable points. Sellers are advised to compare prices in advance and optimize last-mile delivery combinations, and incorporate peak-season logistics costs into their pricing strategies.
