AMZ123 has learned that Walmart has launched Agent Gateway, a suite of server interfaces based on the MCP protocol. Authorized AI agents can query Walmart’s online inventory and place orders on behalf of users, and the service also covers Sam’s Club. Walmart has completed integration with applications such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Meta’s Muse, forming a sharp contrast with Amazon’s policy of restricting AI agents from placing orders.
Starting in November, Walmart will launch the Agent Profiles feature, creating an independent authorization profile for each agent. Users can choose to approve transactions one by one, or preset spending limits such as $50, $100, or $200, under which orders will be automatically executed. Authorization profiles can be revoked or deleted at any time.
Seller Home Review
Walmart opening its AI agent ordering interface means that the “machine readability” of product information and inventory will directly affect exposure and conversion. Sellers should optimize structured Listing data as soon as possible and pay attention to fulfillment timeliness requirements for AI agent orders to avoid being demoted by algorithms due to stockouts or inaccurate information.
