AMZ123 has learned that Amazon disclosed on its official blog in Germany that it uses technologies such as X-ray scanners, machine learning and drone test spaces to conduct functionality and safety inspections on returned goods. The largest return center in Europe, located in Slovakia, covers an area of 60,000 square meters and has a conveyor belt of 3.8 kilometers, which can accommodate up to 3,000 employees. After the returned goods are initially checked manually, they are automatically classified into four categories by the AI system: new for resale, Amazon's special return offer, charity donation/clearance sale and recycling/energy recovery. X-ray equipment can effectively identify counterfeits, illegal repairs and safety hazards, while the drone test room is specially used to detect the performance of returned devices.
