Amazon officially launched a virtual identity verification mechanism on September 23, 2026. It triggers online video verification for sellers with questionable identity. Accounts that fail to complete verification within the specified time will have selling permissions suspended.
🔍 Core Rules
The verification is a video call to confirm the real business entity behind the account. It is not a penalty, only a compliance identity confirmation.
After a regular notice, there is a 14-day processing grace period, with a second email reminder on day 7. Some high-risk accounts have no grace period and must complete verification immediately to restore selling.
Accounts that miss the deadline will have selling permissions suspended directly, but the verification link remains usable. After completing verification, sellers can apply for restoration.
📩 Official Notification Channels
Sellers can receive verification reminders through three official channels to avoid missing the deadline:
The registered email receives a reminder titled “Complete identity verification within 14 days”.
In Seller Central, go to Account Health → Manage Account Health → Performance Notifications to view the official notice.
A new risk alert appears at the top of the Account Health page, and the “Priority Actions” module directly shows the remaining processing time.
📋 Required Verification Materials
All documents must be authentic, unmodified, and unobstructed. Photoshopping or alteration is strictly prohibited. Prepare both paper originals and electronic copies.
Core participant ID: The legal representative must bring the ID card used at registration, Hong Kong/Macau re-entry permit, Taiwan compatriot permit, or passport. Information must be complete and clear.
Operator proof: Accompanying operators must provide social insurance records, labor contracts, or other proof of relationship.
Financial documents: Bank statements or credit card statements issued within the past 180 days, showing the complete entity name and address.
Business qualification documents: full company registration documents. Hong Kong companies must also prepare relevant Hong Kong company registration materials.
Supplementary materials as needed: purchase invoices, registration certificates, operation logs, and other supporting materials for the corresponding ASINs.
📹 Key Video Verification Requirements
The account legal representative must appear on camera throughout. All participants must connect from the same physical location.
Verification usually lasts 10–60 minutes. Test the camera, microphone, and network stability in advance. Choose a quiet, bright environment and avoid unrelated people entering the frame.
Reviewers will ask in-depth questions about company basic information, supply chain details, operation records, account usage scenarios, and other aspects. The legal representative must be familiar with core operating information to avoid contradictory answers.

Below is a self-check list for quickly passing virtual identity verification aligned with EU FBA compliance requirements, covering both identity verification and European site compliance to avoid peak-season account risks:
📋 Basic Identity Material Self-Check
Legal representative ID: Confirm that the legal representative’s ID card/passport/Hong Kong-Macau travel permit is within validity, and that name, document number, and other information match Amazon backend registration 100%, with no alteration or obstruction.
Business qualification: Prepare the original business license, ensure the business status is normal and active, and that company name and registered address fully match Amazon backend and tax registration information.
Operator proof: Accompanying operators should prepare social insurance payment records for the last 6 months and labor contracts. The employment start date should logically match the account registration time.
Financial proof: Prepare bank statements for the receiving account and the credit card used for registration, issued within the past 180 days, fully showing the company’s complete name and business address.
EU FBA Compliance Self-Check
VAT information verification: Check VAT numbers in all inventory countries through the EU VIES system. Ensure the VAT number, company name, and address exactly match the tax authority database to avoid verification failure caused by inconsistent information.
Pan-EU/Central Europe program completion: Sellers enrolled in Pan-EU must confirm VAT for all EU inventory countries has been uploaded. Sellers using Central Europe program must complete valid VAT numbers for Poland and Czech Republic.
Warehouse double-code archiving: Organize EORI numbers and corresponding MRN customs clearance receipts for all EU FBA shipments, ensuring one-to-one matching to meet the mandatory warehouse check requirements starting September 2026.
Customs clearance records: Prepare European site commercial invoices, export customs declarations, and logistics contracts for the past 3 months to ensure a traceable goods flow and respond to supply chain inquiries.
🎥 Pre-Video Verification Scene Self-Check
Environment and equipment: Test the camera, microphone, and network in advance. Use a plain wall background, ensure sufficient lighting, and keep all unrelated people out of frame.
Core information memorization: The legal representative must accurately know the store’s product categories, monthly sales scale, purchase channels for main ASINs, and daily operation details to avoid answers conflicting with backend records.
Time reservation: Reserve a free period on a working day in advance, allow at least 60 minutes for verification, and avoid interruptions.
Related-risk check: Confirm the current login IP and devices are not linked to other violating accounts, and that receiving and payment information are not shared across accounts to rule out linkage warnings.
⚠️ Red-Line Self-Check
All submitted materials must not be Photoshopped or altered. Any information tampering will directly cause verification failure.
The registered legal representative must appear in person. Entrusting others to verify is strictly prohibited; non-personal operation is a high-frequency cause of verification failure.
After receiving the notice, strictly complete the appointment within the 14-day grace period. High-risk accounts have no buffer time; exceeding the deadline will directly suspend selling permissions.
The core of this verification is to confirm consistency among account entity, actual operator, receiving information, and business authenticity. Preparing in advance can greatly reduce risk.
