AMZ123 has learned that, according to reports, Amazon conducted a centralized review of about 20,000 accounts ahead of the August–September peak season, focusing on accounts subject to "Protocol 3 + virtual identity video verification." Some sellers reported that they were rejected even when all questions were answered correctly; reviewers said the applicants "did not look like sellers genuinely running an Amazon business, but more like they were reciting answers."

At the same time, various fraudulent methods have been exposed, including forging employee identities, marriage certificates, and social insurance records. Some even cloned the Alipay app and embedded employee social insurance information into it, but none of these methods passed the dual system and manual review.

This risk-control upgrade is essentially a countermeasure against the long-term "coaching" tactics of gray-account intermediaries. With AI involvement, historical violations can be traced and linked, triggering fund freezes. For sellers with authentic documentation, real legal representatives, and compliant operations, the pass rate is nearly 100%; blocked accounts are mostly concentrated among purchased accounts, nominee-held accounts, and those using virtual face verification.

For sellers, the core of video verification has shifted from "memorizing documents" to a live trust review of whether they can present a genuine operator image. The "guaranteed approval" previously promised by account intermediaries is rapidly losing its basis.
