AMZ123 has learned that Google officially launched its fourth spam update of 2026 on September 24. The update covers all languages globally, is being rolled out in stages, and has a full rollout period of up to two weeks, with completion expected by October 8. Google did not specify the affected industries, page types, or keywords.
For independent website sellers, if organic traffic or rankings fluctuate during this period, it is advisable not to immediately attribute the changes to major promotions, site redesigns, or product selection adjustments. A more reliable approach is to analyze performance by page type, including category templates, product detail pages, guide content, brand landing pages, multilingual versions, and pages containing affiliate links and user-generated content. If only one type of template experiences ranking declines, the cause may differ from an overall traffic drop and should be examined separately. At the same time, it is recommended to keep a record of site redesigns, new product launches, and translation changes made since September 24, so you can later distinguish between the impact of your own actions and algorithm fluctuations.
Google also emphasized that using AI-generated content itself does not constitute spam. What the algorithm penalizes is the practice of creating pages in bulk solely to improve rankings without providing substantial value to users.
SellerHome Review
As Google rolls out its fourth spam update of the year, independent website sellers should immediately check traffic anomalies by template type, focus on auditing AI-generated comment sections and low-quality multilingual pages, and promptly clean up low-value content.
